The Bundanoon Highland Gathering is coming! It’s a great time to put on your favourite utility kilt on the 4th April 2020. The celebration of Scottish culture in Australia will be the 43rd annual celebration.
Music from the fiddlers and bagpipes as well as Mary Kiani serenade dancers throughout the day. The day will conclude with a ceilidh. A kennel show, a kilt dash for all ages and stone lifting keep everyone entertained. Don’t miss out on the dancing!
A Celebration of Heritage
This is the largest Scottish cultural celebration in Australia, but you don’t have to be Scottish to attend. Of course, you might have some extra incentive if you are Scottish. The clans will be showing off booths that explain their heritage. Come and find out who you’re related to!
Tartan is a feature of the day, and you might want to go in your family duds. If you don’t have one yet, visit our online store right away.
Music and Activities Throughout the Day are Sure to Keep You Interested
This event starts a little earlier than some others. Be sure to arrive before 8am if you want to meet the members of some massed bands. They bring in the morning in the Village with some beautiful sounds.
The parade follows. It begins at 9am on the corner of Erith and Amy streets. Then, the massed bands and drums kick off the show at 9:45am. More music follows with fiddlers in the oval area and in the fiddlers’ tent.
You can participate in the Caber Toss and Stone Put later in the day. This is a rare opportunity to try your hand at some traditional games. Come with your family and enjoy all the activities!
