The Canberra 48 Hour Race

The Canberra 48 Hour Race is one of the 48hr, 24hr, 12hr, 6hr, 100k and marathon track races that are conducted over a 400-metre track at the Australian Institute of Sport. This is now an Annual Event and, obviously, a much awaited event in Canberra for all runners. Moreover, it is a Kilted to Kick Cancer Event and definitely one that Ozkilts supports.

 

Race Venue and Day

The Canberra 48 Hour Race by Ozkilts The venue of the Canberra 48 Hour Race as well as the other races is the Australian Institute of Sport Track and Field Facility. It is located on Masterman St, Bruce, Australian Capital Territory.

The 48hr race is scheduled to begin at 12:00hrs on Friday 17th March 2017 and end at 12:00hrs on Sunday 19th March 2017.

Registration for the 48hr race opens at 10.30am and closes at 11.15am on Friday, 17th March 2017.

The venue boasts excellent trackside facilities with great access, parking and camping facilities too. This is definitely going to be an event that you are going to enjoy at the venue as much as you would at the race. Don’t miss it for anything in the world!

 

About the Race

This is a race for runners by the runners. Of course, there is a family atmosphere among the athletes and the helpers. From ultra-veterans to first-timers who are keen to experience more than a marathon, the CBR 48hr race is the event you must attend.

The race event will be followed by an official awards presentation with trophies and prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers. There are awards for age group categories too. All the competitors will get a medal and a certificate. The speciality of the 48hr race event is that there are two best crew prizes too.
